BeDee: Rise in South Carolina

21 year old, BeDee, is one of the few South Carolina underground rappers currently on the rise.

With the release of his track "JUMPBACK," We linked up with the young artist to learn more about his background and his current music journey.

The young artist has been making music for some time now, but only recently started to focus on it as a career.

At around the age of 3, BeDee, lost his mother inspiring him to start taking an interest in music.

In 6th grade he started a music group called the "EoA” (eyes of ambition), setting a goal to open up a label in the future. BeDee continued to write his raps and make his music even when he would get locked up in Juvenile Detention.

Soon after the birth of his Son, BeDee, started to take his music to the next level. Partnering up with his right hand man and engineer Kavon.

Now BeDee is one of the few known artists in his city of Greenville.

After getting quick insight into the live of BeDee, we wanted to know more about his music and his latest track "JUMPBACK":

When did you start making music?

"I started making music when i was ten years old with my ipod touch in the bathroom recording with apple head phones"

What is your favorite part of the music process?

"My favorite part of the whole process is more than likely just kicking back wit the homies and cooking up sumn we can ride around too."

What inspired your latest track "JUMPBACK"?

"Me and my two homies that wrote this song actually live the stuff we rap....." (Unable to disclose further information)

Any new music music or projects you're working on?

I personally make more of a conscience/vibey/abstract sound i went with more of a modern trending hip hop sound to attract more listeners in and i plan on releasing several more songs with a similar or Equal vibe.

BeDee's track was released towards the end of 2020 with the featured artists Luthamane and PDL Peso and produced by BTGrin.

Overall, we think this is his best track yet. Showing off his versatility and staying true to his character.

We enjoy his more melodic and experimental raps, but it's refreshing to see him taking a different approach to really showcase why he's one of the few artists getting recognition out in South Carolina.

Honestly, we can't wait to see what else BeDee has got up his sleeve, but for now we'll just have to wait and see.
