The 20-year-old New York artist has been working on the "Spark The Flames" saga since 2019. At the time, he learned how to make beats and started defining his sound.
Later on, he fully developed the idea for "Spark The Flames II" and released the continuation of the saga.
Sha $upreme shared some details with us about the behind-the-scenes of the album and how it came to be.
"The process started in late 2019, a couple of months after the release of my first ep “Spark the Flame”.I learned to make beats and created the seed for the track “Black Dragon II”. I decided to focus on developing my sound and also showing my versatility so the project’s creation was postponed"
"In 2020, during the pandemic, I began to notice my growth and decided it was time to take things to the next level and work on part 2. The dragon woke up. I had my team and endless ideas, it was time for work."
Sha $upreme collaborated with his inner circle producers Day Supreme, Jeo Cruddy, and 15o3 to create the feel of the album and each individual track. They created each beat from scratch, guided by Sha's crazy imagination.
"I would say something to 15o3 like “I want it to sound like a kung fu battle between two old men wearing Air Force 1s in a volcano”. I would then suggest the type of instruments to use in the beat such as electric guitars, heavy bass lines, or bouncy 808s. Once I picked a beat I tried a bunch of different approaches when it came to writing."
Sha was involved in every single aspect of the album and it's fun to see that his crazy ideas came to life.
Sha $upremes' "Spark The Flames II" has 10 tracks and varies in versatility. Overall, the album showcases Sha's creativity and growth.
The "Spark The Flames II" album is a great example of good things to come for the young artist and his endless potential.
